The DV-7 is an intelligent nonlinear audio and video editing workstation designed for the demands of professional video production. Using the fastest audio/video operating system in the world, the DV-7 will respond to your most demanding video needs and help you create your video masterpieces. No PC required.

High Quality - The DV-7 uses the same native DV format used by digital camcorders providing 1st generation video throughout your entire production. The DV-7 also captures analog video to integrate archived video footage at the same quality as your DV footage.
Realtime Processing - The DV-7 was designed to save time during the video editing process by incorporating realtime processing, providing you a picture of the final edited outcome without waiting hours for rendering time. Most conventional video editing systems use video compression to speed up rendering time, resulting in loss of noticeable video quality. The DV-7 does video processing in the native DV video format allowing you processing speed while maintaining the original video footage quality.
Reliability - Has your computer ever crashed because you loaded a new piece of software or hardware device? Have you loaded a piece of video software on your computer only to find out it doesn't have the right drivers to be compatible with your video card? No more crashes or hardware conflicts with the dedicated DV-7 video editing system. No configuration required, just switch on the power, plug in your cameras, and start editing. The DV-7 provides all of the tools for loading video and audio, creating titles, editing, processing, and output of the finished project in one integrated powerful package. Although most functions can be performed with a mouse and keyboard, the DV-7C controller is equipped with jog/shuttle dial, operation buttons, a T-bar (for title insert), and sliders for audio level controls.

For audio editing, DV-7 also makes full use of the technology developed at Roland for digital audio recorders. It has a mixer function that you can use to control the volume of three stereo tracks in realtime, and is also equipped with audio effects such as reverb, and an equalizer. You can also use it to control the time, pitch and formant of narrations and other soundtracks, and freely create original audio effects.
Two Editing Methods for Creative Imagination - The DV-7 supports both storyboard and timeline editing, and you can switch between the storyboard and timeline screens with a single operation. Storyboard editing allows you to set the story of the job, and makes it easy to line up the editing material, while timeline editing allows you to intuitively grasp the length of the material, and allows multitrack editing using titles and audio.
Mega Storage - The DV-7 system comes fitted with an internal 60 GB hard-disk drive which allows for up to 270 minutes of uncompressed DV quality digital video recording. The software, controlled via a standard mouse and displayed either via a standard DV or high-resolution XGA monitor is sophisticated, yet incredibly intuitive.
