American Royal Museum Attached to the showgrounds in Kansas City where the American Royal Show is held annually, there is an exhibition and museum area showing the activities and history of the American Royal.
The American Royal audio and video installation comprised a series of exhibits each with their own unique audiovisual enhancements controlled by proximity sensors or push button selection panels.
The exhibit shown allows the visitor to select a person from the panel by pressing a button. The person is highlighted and a video presentation follows. Another of the exhibits not shown is an automated theatre where the visitor selects the short presentation they wish to see. The lights dim automatically, the presentation appears on the big screen and is enhanced by a high impact sound system. At the end of the presentation, lights automatically fade up and the selection panel is highlighted for the next presentation. All exhibits throughout the hall are started each day by
a single pushbutton control.
